  • Quantum Processors

Quantum processor and conventional CPUs working together

Quantum processors appear perfectly suited for machine learning and A/I. A QP working with data processed by traditional GPUs/CPUs would seem a close approximation of how a human brain is composed. It would allow for agentic inputs of specific sensor driven models to be consumed by a core that inherently assesses information on a probabilistic basis.

  • The Cloud Layout

There are generally three recognized layers to any stack: IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.

There are glue pieces in between that facilitate interactions and/or try to smooth out implementation differences at layer that can accommodate this (IaaS and PaaS): Infrastructure as code, CNCF interfaces.

The SaaS layer is unique though because thats where a unique, end user consumable is provided. This layer needs to be multi-deployment capable. That is to say, a given generation of the offering must be capable of being deployed at multiple CSPs, on prem and edge locations and must also be able to interoperate as a single unit/mesh if designed with that intention.

This may require iPaaS offerings that can abstract the underlying offerings of the various deployment targets to present the expected resource to the SaaS entity or it may require the SaaS offering to be capable of doing this itself.

  • Artificial Intelligence

I’m always surprised w/ our characterization of today’s development of machine learning and advanced processing of that as Al. To me, that’s like saying each of the human brain’s components, the visual cortex, auditory cortex etc and independently intelligent. Intelligence is the higher level application of reasoning performed by our frontal lobe – the one that doesnt itself process any data from sensors but it applies reasoning, rationale and contemplative thought to all the information processed by our various sensor based cortexes. The most articulate formulation of an application of this notion that I have read can be found here: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/ai-should-raise-bar-human-cognition-david-ferrucci-xbkze

  • Random

    Random

Is it really random or do you just not have all the parameters/variables for calculating the outcome?

  • Buying Money

Buying means trading one thing of value for another . We all buy money with our time – not everyone gets a good deal 😔.

  • What the quarantine

It seems, at least for AZ and a few other states, they miscalculated the general mental lapse of the population. The couple of months of shelter at home time were to bolster hospital supplies and allow the health care system to prepare (since the govt failed to do so in January and February). It also was meant to get us used to better hygiene so as to have a better chance with the virus. The exuberant abandonment of all caution was not calculated by the authorities – sadly, humans have a large capacity to surprise 😔.

  • Living

We live for the validation of our existence.

  • Steaming electrons

It’s pretty amazing that, given all the advancements in electricity generation, besides solar, they all boil down to turning water into steam and driving an electric motor, essentially, backwards (not in reverse) and applying the right hand rule

  • Going through the motions

Do you think about the meaning behind the things you say or do? When you meet your friend and ask them how they are doing, are you really expecting to process their response? What’s behind that tradition you’re practicing? Does it make sense any more or are you just doing it because you were told/shown how to do so.

What does a holiday you might be celebrating mean to you? More and more, it seems the meaning behind things are lost or no longer relevant. It’s just another day and often it’s associated with some commercial practice and an obligation that must be fulfilled. On Thanksgiving, do you really reflect on your life and count your blessings and truly take time to be thankful for what you have? Or is it just the fourth Thursday in November again and (for the vast majority) has provided you with a day (or two) off to gorge on “traditional” thanksgiving food which will lead to buying sale items the next day so you can save money.
