  • Don’t Medula with me

From ganglion to grey matter, the human brain has had quite a journey of development and evolution. As with a computer, the newer/advanced layers depend on accessing the functionality of the layers below. Unlike a computer, each layer has it’s demands – and sometimes that which the lower layer wants can only be delivered by actions accomplished by the layer above.

What does a layer of brain want besides the basic needs of a cell? Specific chemicals it would seem. Besides sustenance (energy), it seems chemicals are the driving force for a brain’s existence.  I really don’t know how the brain’s cells develop a craving for these chemicals or what positive results these chemicals have on the cells. When you develop a craving for that favorite icecream a chemical grant sequence has been setup (a contract). There is an agreement setup between the layers of the brain. They work in collaboration to achieve this goal and the accomplishment of this results in chemicals (dopamines for example) being released to sate the layer that sets up the contract to start. Each layer benefits in some form (how?).

  • Spirals and Trends

Everything we know is built on something that became known before it. Sparks lead to fires.

Everything seems to work this way – fashion, science, technology, art, you name it. You conceive of something, an idea, a technique, a process whatever it might be, and then it gets used to create something new and so the spiral continues. If it was a trend, it will come back in a new form.

  • Numbers, Percentage and the big picture

Given a large enough sample, all possibilities will be represented. So it is with the human population. Lets take the “good” and “bad” of the population. Percentage wise, the numbers don’t change but when applied to a growing population, the actual number of individuals increases for each category. Then, within each category, there is a range: “very good” to “just not bad” and “just not good” to “very bad”. As it turns out, the extreme ends of these (“very good” and “very bad”) have the ability to impact many others; given tools to amplify their impact, they can be a significant influence on the lives of those within their realm of control. Without reasonable controls in place to steer the application of those amplification mediums, the big picture can look pretty bleak.

  • Imposter Disaster

Ah crap…if I post this, will it make me look like I don’t actually know what I am talking about? Replace “post” with something else and it probably still describes the thought that goes through the mind of many people suffering through a condition known as “Imposter Syndrome”. Likely, it stems from a lack of confidence but there is also some insidious voice inside that speaks with a forked tongue to discredit the host’s self assurance. So what do you do about it? There seem to be many sites out there talking about this and making suggestions. Although it can become difficult to discern whether that internal voice is your spidey sense or just your debilitator, gaining a handle on that voice is undoubtedly a valuable step in overcoming this. Or could that be disastrous…

    Sticks and Stones

    May break my bones

    But I’ll heal

    And emerge stronger

    Words

    On the other hand

    May just sting me now

But they’ll haunt me a lot longer

Is the idea of zombies just a formalization of the brainwashing that is already known and happens? Following a “leader” in defiance of your humanity – to eat their brain (way of thinking).
